The name of the book is  I WROTE THIS


‘I Wrote This’ is a journey recounted by 2 poetic lovers or more likely two poetic rivals on their experiences and exploits in life. 


A voyage from divinity to humanity, covering all the ups and downs of belief, faith, love, lust, society and eventually hope. In this brilliantly entertaining and engaging journey, they guide us through a grim teenage period of love, loss, betrayal, experimentation and finally the stage where everything begins to make sense. They finally meet true love and discovered the one place where they could fully be understood; the book.


A book containing 130 pages of short stories and poetry published by BecomeShakespeare. 


It brings together the work of two authors – Shreya Sethi and Craig Dominic Pinto. 


SYNOPSIS OF THE BOOK: 

This world has no ends to begin with; however something once upon a time started it all. That something was I. Enveloping the realms of common sense and sense common to some, this book seeks to awaken the "I" in you. What once found its way in the tattered pages of old journals now turns to face the world. In this mechanical era, where most people can’t find themselves in their own reflection; starving for an answer. It is for them to discover how an idea can set them free. I am what brought two strangers to narrate one story; it is a journey I wanted them to be a part of.

THE INCEPTION OF THE IDEA:

An interesting story,

The year 2011 saw Craig and Shreya pursuing their bachelors degree, in English and Economics respectively from Delhi University. They had the rare opportunity to come across each other at most literary fests, such as Wordsmith in Ramjas College and Expressions in Kamla Nehru College etc. Those were just the times when they were competing with each other in either Poetry or Prose competitions. They faced off on non-literary grounds as well, such as D’apprentice 2010 hosted by C.B.S. Realizing a common flair for writing during a poetic gathering organized by Kamla Nehru College, they got along more amazingly than they ever thought of. 

From one such casual meeting the number of meetings multiplied to discuss ideas and share the views and then they hatched a plan to write a book together. It seemed like making a castle in the air back then. They were not just dreamers but, believed the dreams could come true.

Until a year later they stumbled upon a publishing house and the wheels were set in action. They lost sight of the ground from that point on, and there was no point in looking back. They often wonder how they ever got so far, and I often wonder what I saw in these two writers.

WHAT ONE HEART IS TO TWO LOVERS, IS WHAT THIS DREAM WAS TO THE TWO CO-AUTHORS - I WROTE THIS.

STORY BEHIND THE COVER DESIGN:


The brilliantly striking cover design is the creation of the artistic creation of Dhruv Randhawa and Annika Bhasker.


From the front page to the back page there is a concept hidden beneath the neat layers of the design, like a message in code. 


The front page is a depiction of how an idea washed over the authors in a brilliant blast of light.  People normally think of the light as many things, a train, a meteor, sometimes even God; the truth is it was just an idea. From ideas, thoughts, dreams, desires experiences, choices and everything that the authors had felt melted to take the form of poetry and stories behind this cover. Then comes the back page. 


When the idea had achieved its purpose, they authors saw things a lot clearer. They were left smiling, with just a glow of enlightenment on their faces.
